Location:
Tomb of Gia Long is one of the famous tombs of Hue which is located in a secluded mountain area and it is far from the city center. But this place always brings an incredible attraction to people who love to explore. Which has a peaceful setting, poetic, the ancient tomb, and was surrounded with 42 mountains.
History and Architecture:
To be a strong man save his royal family who spent his life pursuing his dreams of building his own position. When his first Queen died, he loved his wife very much. Right then, in 1814, he ordered the construction of two tombs adjacent to each other for her and another one for him in the future.
The tomb location is very far from the city. It's about 20 kilometers west of the citadel of Hue because the Vietnamese are conceptually that the best places of a tomb will be in the west along with the sunset. In the area, there were tombs of his family members.
Amidst a vast and magnificent space of nature, the mausoleum of Gia Long has about 20 small relics arranged in 3 groups as follows:
- The central group: tombs of the emperors and queens.
- Left group: Stone stela on the life and labor of the King
- Right group: the palace of worship for the King and Empress
How to get there:
There’re 2 ways to reach Gia Long Tomb, which is really a remote spot, even for local people. You can take a boat along the Perfume River which is really worth a try.
The other method is to go there by car or motorbike. It’s more convenient for you when you can enjoy each moment on the way.
