Introduction about Royal Mausoleum of Khai Dinh
Khai Dinh Mausoleum is a relic in the monuments of Hue Citadel, the tomb is in the village of Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province. It is the burial area of the 12th Emperor of the Nguyen dynasty- the last dynasty in Vietnamese feudal history.
Khai Dinh Emperor (1885 – 1925) official name is Nguyen Phuc Buu Dao, the eldest son of Dong Khanh Emperor.
He came to the throne in 1916 as the 12th Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty for 10 years and he passed away in 1925.
Construction process
When he ascended the throne, he sought to learn about the construction of the tomb, palace, residence for himself, and the royal family such as Dien Kien Trung Palace, An Dinh Palace, Hien Nhon gate, and especially Khai Dinh Mausoleum. To build the tomb he consulted many of the geologists where is the perfect place for the house in the afterlife.
The tomb began to build on 4/9/1920 and took 11 years to complete. The construction process was commanded by Le Van Ba and a lot of well-known craftsmen and artisans.
With a large scale of construction, it is sufficient funding. The apocalypse allowed a 30% increase in tax in the country and took that amount as a mausoleum. It is also because of this action that the King of revelation has been harshly condemned by history

Entering the Khai Dinh Mausoleum is a greeting with a 37 ladder level. The gates were made according to the tower influences of Hinduism.

Thien Dinh Palace shows the highest artistic value of the mausoleum and decoration of the Palace.

The entire interior of the three spaces in the Celestial Palace is decorated with porcelain and crockery. Each of the works shows the talents of the artisans of the time. There is a special picture on the ceiling that is Nine Dragons hiding under the clouds by famous artisans Phan Van Tanh. He made it by his feet.
In the mausoleum, there is a statue of the Khai Dinh Emperor that was standing with a blend of European, Asian art. This statue is high 1m60, both in size and shape is like a real person.
Nowadays, Khai Dinh Mausoleum still has a mixed opinion when it comes to the assessment of the aesthetic view of the Emperor. However, the tomb still has an important position because of the difference from the system of the tomb of the Nguyen Dynasty in Hue
